Seasonal Planning

Why a Summer Wedding in Miami Might Be Your Smartest Choice

Summer brings vivid gardens, golden evening light, and more room to compare dates. The right timeline and rain plan can make the season work beautifully.

Many couples begin planning with the idea that winter is automatically the best time to marry in Miami. Our winters are lovely, but summer offers its own advantages: tropical gardens at their fullest, warm evening light, and more room to compare available dates.

A summer celebration does require an honest plan for heat and rain. With a thoughtful ceremony time, refreshments for guests, and a venue that can explain its backup spaces clearly, the season can feel vibrant, relaxed, and unmistakably South Florida.

A beautiful summer wedding is not about ignoring Miami weather. It is about planning with the season so the gardens, light, and celebration can shine.

01

The gardens are at their most lush

South Florida landscapes come alive during the warm, rainy months. Palms and tropical plantings fill out, greenery becomes vivid, and the garden gives portraits a rich natural backdrop.

At Longan’s Place, the pond-side ceremony setting, flower-lined aisle, bridge, fountains, and garden paths give couples several distinct outdoor scenes on one property. Seeing the grounds in summer is the best way to understand how the season will look in photographs.

02

More flexibility for the date you want

Winter and spring dates can fill far in advance. Summer may give couples more room to compare Saturdays, weekdays, and the availability of photographers or other vendors before making a decision.

Availability changes constantly, so no season guarantees a particular date. Start with the public calendar, then request a proposal for the exact date and guest count. A proposal does not reserve the date, so availability should be rechecked before the event is formally booked.

03

Date flexibility can help your budget

Summer does not automatically change Longan’s published guest minimums or venue rental. The financial advantage is flexibility: couples who can compare different days may find a structure that fits the guest list and priorities more comfortably.

Current full-wedding venue rental ranges from $5,500 Monday through Thursday to $7,500 on Saturday, before the selected per-person package, 18% service charge, and 7% Florida sales tax. Package levels and inclusions vary, so use the written proposal rather than assuming every all-inclusive service appears in every tier.

04

Plan honestly for heat and rain

Miami summer weather deserves a real plan. These practical choices can make the guest experience more comfortable without asking anyone to pretend the season is cooler or drier than it is.

  • Consider a late-afternoon or early-evening ceremony to avoid the strongest midday sun and move portraits closer to golden hour.
  • Use shaded areas when the event layout allows, and make water and other cold drinks easy for guests to find.
  • Ask the venue to explain the actual rain backup, its capacity, and when the weather decision will be made.
  • Build a little flexibility into the photography timeline because summer showers can arrive and pass quickly.

05

One property, with the right package for your celebration

Keeping the ceremony, portraits, and reception on one property reduces travel and simplifies the guest experience in any season. Longan’s offers Ceremony Only, Petite and Micro Weddings, and full weddings for celebrations of up to 180 guests.

Inclusions depend on the option selected. The Signature All-Inclusive package is the fullest tier, while other packages are intentionally simpler. Covered and indoor backup options are available, and the team confirms the appropriate rain plan based on the guest count and event layout.
